As you can see the expressions THERE IS and THERE ARE are used to make oral and written sentences about existence, in Spanish (hay una sala muy grande en mi casa, hay dos recamaras en mi casa, hay dos televisiones en mi cuarto, ect).
THERE IS is for singular and THERE ARE is for plural, in the illustration you can see the three differents ways to use these expresions: affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences, for example for singular form:

• There is a big table in the dining room.
• There isn't  a big table in the dinnig room.
• Is there a big table in the dining room? Yes, there is / No there isn't.

The next is a example for plural form:

• There are 2 beds in my bedroom.
• There aren't 2 beds in my bedroom.
• Are there 2 beds in my bedroom? Yes, there are / No, there aren't

You can see it is very easy to structure these kind of sentences, so try it!!!
